Privacy & safety

Your photos and location

Applies to: everyone.
  1. Photos never carry hidden location data. Phones embed GPS coordinates inside photo files — YOHB strips that metadata from every upload automatically, on your device and again on our servers. No photo on YOHB can reveal where it was taken.
  2. Your location is only ever read once, with your permission. A few features ask for a single location fix when you use them — checking in at an event, finding events near you, or (optionally) when you scan someone's QR code. Each one shows the standard permission prompt, and saying no never blocks you.
  3. YOHB never tracks you in the background. There is no continuous location tracking anywhere in the app, and no analytics or advertising trackers either.
  4. Curious what a QR scan records — and what it never does? See What we track when someone scans.

How YOHB protects members under 18

Applies to: everyone.
  1. YOHB requires a date of birth at signup (you must be at least 13 to join), and applies extra protection to anyone under 18 automatically — there's nothing to configure.
  2. No location, ever: we never store a location for a member under 18, anywhere in the app.
  3. Scans stay anonymous: when someone under 18 scans a QR code, the scan is never connected to their account — the owner just sees an anonymous scan.
  4. Personal data stays theirs: clubs and events that require members to share personal details aren't available to members under 18.
  5. Event tickets: claiming a spare ticket from another attendee is limited to members 18 and over.

If we don't know a member's age for any reason, we treat them as under 18 until we do — protection is the default, not the exception.

Your VIN and license plate

Applies to: everyone.

Your VIN and license plate are private by default and are never shown to other users unless you choose otherwise. The full article lives in the vehicles section: Keep your VIN and license plate private.

Terms and privacy updates

Applies to: everyone.
  1. When we make a meaningful change to the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, the app shows a one-time "Updated Terms & Privacy" screen the next time you use YOHB. It appears only when something actually changed — never for typo fixes.
  2. Review the linked documents and tap accept — that's it. The screen can't be skipped, because we don't want anyone using YOHB under terms they haven't seen.
  3. The current documents always live at Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  4. Every past version is kept unchanged and stays available, so you can always see exactly what you agreed to and when.

Report a problem / get support

Applies to: everyone.
  1. For how-tos and troubleshooting, start at the Help Center home.
  2. To reach us directly — including reporting a problem, a safety concern, or a privacy question — use the contact details under Support & Contact.
  3. Support & Contact is always available from the Help Center and from the footer of the sign-in and landing pages — no sign-in needed to reach it.
