Notifications

Choose what notifies you

Applies to: everyone.
  1. The bell at the top of the app always collects everything that happens to you — likes, replies, mentions, club and event updates, scans, and more. The bell can't be turned off; your choices control which of those also ping your device.
  2. Open Account › Notifications. The master switch turns push on or off entirely; below it, per-category toggles let you pick which kinds of activity push (posts, membership updates, scans, and so on).
  3. For any club or event you belong to, you can fine-tune announcements, feed posts, and event updates individually — your other clubs and events keep following your general toggles.
  4. When you join a club or event, a one-time popup asks what you'd like to hear about from it. Everything starts checked; just save (or dismiss to keep the defaults).

Turning a toggle off never deletes anything — those notifications still appear in your bell whenever you open the app.

Turn on push notifications

Applies to: everyone. Push is the only way to get YOHB alerts on your phone until our native apps launch.
  1. On iPhone/iPad: push requires YOHB installed on your home screen first (iOS 16.4 or later) — a Safari tab can't receive notifications. Follow Install the app, open YOHB from the new icon, then continue below.
  2. On Android: no install needed — push works straight from Chrome (and Samsung Internet or Firefox). Installing the app is optional and gives you a home-screen icon.
  3. Open Account › Notification settings, tap Enable push on this device, and choose Allow when your browser asks.
  4. Push is per device — enable it on each phone, tablet, or computer where you want alerts. Turning it off on one device doesn't affect the others.
  5. Tapping a notification takes you straight to the thing it's about — the post, club, event, or your profile.

Blocked it by accident, or alerts stopped arriving? See troubleshooting notifications.

Get the daily email digest

Applies to: everyone. This feature is rolling out — you may not receive digests just yet.
  1. The digest is one short email a day summarizing the bell notifications you haven't read yet — a count per category (new replies, club activity, scans, and so on), never the full content.
  2. It arrives shortly after 8 AM your local time, and only on days when there's actually something new — no activity, no email.
  3. It's on by default. Turn it off (or back on) with the digest toggle in Account › Notifications, or use the one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom of any digest.
  4. If you turn it back on later, the next email covers just the last day — you'll never get a giant catch-up email.

Manage email preferences

Applies to: everyone.
  1. Every marketing or newsletter email from YOHB includes an unsubscribe / manage preferences link at the bottom. It opens your personal preferences page — no login needed.
  2. On that page, choose which topics you want (like the newsletter) per checkbox, or unsubscribe from everything in one click.
  3. If you have a YOHB account, the same topic choices also live in Account › Notifications, alongside the daily digest toggle (see above).
  4. Essential account emails — activation, password reset, and QR code claim emails — always send; they're how your account works, not marketing.

Coming soon

Muting individual clubs or people in the bell itself (today's toggles control push only) is planned — an article will appear here when it launches.
